Asmaa Aman-Tran is a moroccan born ceramicist and fiber artist based in Boston, Mass. She combines mix media including clay, natural fibers, metal, and leather to making her pieces truly unique. She uses a technique called terra sigilatta, by adding an extra refined clay slip, which is burnished before firing to yield a unique soft leathery sheen to the surface. Each collection is produced in very small bathes and so no two pieces will be the same.
